It’s been a long time since we got a good Godzilla movie. This one looks promising.
I’ll watch it, for sure. Loved the HALO sequence.
So long as it’s not a continuation of the Roland Emmerich turd that came out when I was 12, I’ll probably check it out.
What? You guys didn’t like the Godzilla vs. Ferris Bueller version?
They can’t **** it up more than has been previously attempted.
Frankly in hollywoods desperation for something to do, or is more often the case REDO, I’m shocked and disappointed they haven’t taken a stab at gamera, ultraman, johnny socko or some of the other old timers.
Actually Japan has done recent remakes of Godzilla, Gamera, etc. and they aren’t too bad. They weren’t meant to be much more serious than the originals, but the effects are better.
But like most here I was very disappointed in the 1998 Godzilla. I don’t have high hopes for this one but I’ll check it out when it comes out on DVD.

I am also hoping that Godzilla wins this time…animals (giant lizards) should have a victory every now and then.
I’m willing to let them play a little loose with military procedures when I’m watching a movie about a giant radioactive lizard demolishing cities. But that’s just me.
Also I saw Bryan Cranston in there. Automatic win!
Come on dude. 50 meters was just perfect for squashing all those paper houses in Tokyo but when you need to put down a SKYSCRAPER… ;p
Yea I’ve seen some stuff like the ultramans.
But I’d love to see hollywood do an honest attempt at that or gamera truthfully. I’ll have to look up what they did to gamera, I haven’t come across it.
Not to mention taking on a big dinosaur thing with a small special ops team and small arms. AC-130s would be a good start and graduate to cruise missiles as needed. Same fatal flaw as Reign of Fire, which had everything it needed to be an awesome movie.

In all seriousness, Godzilla gets revived on the big screen once every decade it seems like. If done right it should be a good show. I’m going to go see it purely for the popcorn factor.
I remember the Ferris Bueller one.
I saw it in the theatre. Remember the helicopters being chased by Godzilla?
I was the young guy in the middle yelling, “Oh for the love of God, just GO UP!!! What the Hell do you think the collective control is for?!?!”

I was a HUGE fan of Godzilla growing up and I was SO disappointed in that movie.
They should have a Pacific Rim robot cameo. Now that would be cool. :dirol:
