Anyone have any experience with the “Goal Zero” brand of solar generation/power storage equipment: Quality? Rugged?
I bought a couple panels (Nomad 7.5 & 27) from them last month but have not been home to play with them. A buddy out here had a Nomad 7.5 (IIRC) and it seemed very durable and rugged. I never got to see it charge anything.
I’ll do a review on them within the next month. Being winter, charging will be slower but at least it will give me an idea.
There’s a good thread on TOS with a review of the Guide 10 charger and panel. Consensus is that it’s an ok panel, but doesn’t live up to it’s advertised output. The Powerfilm panels apparently output much closer to their ratings but you have to mix and match with aftermarket chargers and such. It’s a good read, apparently their customer service is excellent.
