GMO foods???

Is anyone concerned about GMO foods effects on our health ? IMO The food corporations are ruining our health with the processed garbage they produce.

From what I read this stuff is bad shit. Caused some crazy tumors in lab rats and supposedly can modify your own human DNA.

I would say it’s a problem. The apathy & ignorance is off the chart unfortunately.
Consider what Monsanto’s Agent Orange’s damage has done to thousands of servicemen etc.

There is a great documentary called Food Inc. that spends some time discussing the evil that is Monsanto. You can watch it on Netflix.

Yes, I am very concerned about GMO and possible health effects. There is also some speculation that GMO is contributing to the decline in the honey bee population.

The bee population is so important there are 3 major honey and queen bee producers by where I live and bees are delicate, there is a mite that is kills of a major portion of the honey bee hives.

Yes, very concerned. We eat organic whenever possible.

There is a lot of information via books, web sites, and documentaries on the subject.

There is a lot of info out there. I started a diet last December and did alittle reading about nutrition. I’m still reading and finding more stuff they have messed with.

Flouride in the water.

Groath hormones in meat and dairy.

Processed foods, MSG

White flour

Sugar and HF corn syrup

People with medical problems need to check their diet and fix the problem after it presents itself instead of depending on doctors and big pharma to fix ot for them.

I’ll stop here for now but since alittle self education I’ve had the veil pulled away and I don’t like what I see.

Looks like the people /citizens are going to WIN this one.

Don’t celebrate yet, but a grassroots victory against GMO deception is now inevitable

Picked up a few articles about Monsanto is going to lose this battle & have to fall on their Spear. I’ll predict Monsanto will never make a FULL admonition of culpability. They will not admit it in their releases that they have been feeding this to humans KNOWING that it is NOT perfect science. Should be hung & in jail especially since the former Monsanto Exec is head of FDA etc. There’s no conflict of interest there whatsoever…

Regardless of what side of the political fence your beliefs’ are it should have never gotten to this level of deception, corruption, greed etc…

No. GMO foods saved lives before the hippie inspired hysteria started. If you don’t like processed foods, don’t eat them.

I work in agriculture, and have really mixed feelings about this.

On one hand, we have an incredibly cheap and reliable food supply. Modern science has allowed about 1% of the US population to feed a significant portion of the world. Pesticides (including herbicides) are a big part of the reason why we can do this. Farmers don’t use chemicals for fun. They really do increase yields. Another thing to consider is that many GMO crops allow the use of less, or less harmful pesticides. BT corn for example reduces the need for insecticide use. Glyphosate (Roundup) resistant corn reduces the amount of atrazine (a much harsher herbicide linked to widespread groundwater pollution and genetic mutation).

On the other hand, we don’t know what the long term effects of eating GMO crops is. Monsanto has been less than transparent about their processes and technology. A big concern I have relates to the invasive species issue. We are seeing Roundup Resistant Canola becoming a weed along roadways. The road department normally uses roundup to control weeds, but that is no longer effective in this example.

Bottom line for me is that GMO’s are not something I am excited about, but I also don’t intentionally avoid consuming them.

That is the problem. They have actively lobbied to make it so that not only do they not have to label foods as GMO, but they are restricting other food providers from advertising their product as non-GMO. Unless you are growing all of your own food, it is almost impossible to exclude GMO products from your diet. If you do grow your own you will be fighting a losing battle to keep your food non-GMO due to cross-pollination.
