After a little research and some solid advice I dropped my order for my Gen 4 G19. Instead, yesterday I picked up a Gen 3 G19 from my local dealer. I ordered it through them with the GSSF program to save a few bucks. They presented it to me with a blue sticker sealing the case and 3 magazines inside, I believe the LEO program. They immediately took the 3rd magazine out saying I wasn’t entitled to it and that I could buy it back from them for $20, I did.
Is this standard procedure? It seems a little shady to me but I wanted to see what other dealers do in this situation.
Shady? Sounds somewhat like theft to me. Do not use that dealer again!
I am not LE but when my dealer has sold me a blue sticker LE Glock, it has always included the third mag. Based on my experience, you were taken but then again, it’s up to you to buy it or not. If you got a good deal, don’t worry about it.
Remember back in 1994 when all new pre-ban Glocks all of a sudden only came with 1 mag? Glock shipped with 2 but we only could get 1 with each gun and pay $100 to $125 per mag for any additional.
O
Weird, blue label Glocks come with three mags except for subcompacts which only come with 2. I think you need to notify Glock and stop doing business with that dealer.
That’s my plan. They charged me $20 for the extra mag. Anybody have a good contact at Glock versus using a generic customer service email?
So, you paid for something and it came delivered in a sealed case.
The dealer then opens the case and says “Gee, there’s an extra magazine in here, buddy, but you’re not ‘‘entitled’’ to it. Tell ya what though, I’ll let you have the magazine you paid Glock for, an’ it’ll only cost ya $20, howzzat?” The dealer loses no money to Glock whether they put 1, 2, or 100 magazines in the case, but he certainly did make $20 extra that day.
yeah I would let glock know call the guy back tell him you know he is a scam and stop using him
Blue label guns come with 3 mags. and your supposed to get the 3 mags. I’d give Glock a call and let them know.
How much did he charge you in the first place? Was it at least $400?
$460 for the pistol. They told me that if I was “under cover” Glock that they could get in trouble for giving me the pistol with 3 mags VS the 2 since I’m not an LEO.
i’d also post the name of the shop here, since this is pretty clearly fraud… public exposure is warranted.
EDIT: I’ll repost shop name after I speak with Glock.
I just left a voice mail at Glock Inc. in GA and I’ll be following up on it on Monday.
The dealer is full of shit. That’s the same crap dealers pulled during the last AWB, except they removed 1 of the 2 mags with your pistol when they came in. They then tried to sell it to you for 50 to 75 bucks. Pretty f–kin fowl if you ask me. Order from Grant.
Sounds like the same bullshit one of the local dealers pulls only he would have charged you $40 for the mag.
I would definitely report it to Glock. They got rid of a distributor here as they were charging our department and I’m sure others about $50 above leo prices. Now that we have a new distributor, I’ve purchased two more glocks. I was thinking if they charged you under $400 than they would be fine getting $20 bucks more, but not for $460
I would have some pretty strong words with that dealer. What a dirt bag.
That’s a crooked ass dealer. “Under-cover Glock” my ass. If you bought a blue label then you get three mags. Period.
Guys, here’s the deal: People qualified for the Homeland Defender Program (basically LEO/military, but with others also specified, such as First Responders and commercial pilots/Federal Flight Deck Officer program participants) get the price plus 3 magazines (for full-size and compact Glocks-the sub-compacts come only with 2).
GSSF members using the GSSF Purchase Program are entitled to the same preferential price, but only with 2 magazines for the full-sized and compact guns.
Apparently some dealers are giving GSSF participants the 3 magazines, but apparently it really is pretty much their call-the GSSF program only specifies 2 are required.
Best, Jon
He’s correct, it only specifies two mags.

ETA: IMHO, it’s still BS to remove something that comes in the box.
