Debating between the SAI/VTAC magwell and the Agency Arms one. I know the Sentinel Design one is popular and well designed, but I am looking to run aftermarket baseplates (Vickers, 10-8). Any insight/experience with either is appreciated.

I’ve never felt the need for a mag well on something with a 1" opening, but to each his own.
The SAI magwell barely seats mags with Vickers baseplates on my 19, for what it’s worth.
I regret that purchase. I barely notice an improvement if at all.
I bought $6-$7 plugs for my G17 & G41…REALLY helped to smooth up my reloads. No funnels for me.
On a 1911 with single stack Id consider the magwell, on a glock maybe if its a dedicated comp gun. Even then with a plug mag changes are quick remember the mags are tapered at the top making the reloads easier already.
I have the Agency Arms one for a g17 with factory baseplates. Well made, and looks good, but I don’t think it is needed at all. The difference between the opening with and without the magwell is negligible.
The Sentinel magwell does work with 10-8 base plates.
I’ve used the ALG and Sentinel with 10-8 base plates. Mags are easier to seat and strip out with the Sentinel.
I used one for a while(Glockmeister). Didn’t notice much of a difference for me and ended up removing the thing. Doing half-moon cuts did more for stripping mags than a magwell ever did in my opinion. Vickers base plates and half-moon cuts is the cats ass when it comes to stripping mags during jams.
With that being said, give it a try. You may like them.

I have a Zev short on one of mine and like it.
I do like the SAI but the price is twice what most others are… as to be expected I suppose.
