GLOCK FS Question

Hi y’all,

I posted this yesterday on Glock Talk but have not been “approved” (1st post there) by the moderators yet…

Getting ready to buy a G22 and G23; am new to .40SW so…

What bullet weight are the stock and commonly available aftermarket front sights designed to shoot accurately? Also, anyone know where I can get the GLOCK sight tools? I saw them in the back of the GLOCK magazine but they are not on GLOCK’s site.

All Help appreciated!

Sparky

Glocks will shoot to point of aim with any standard ammo from the big manufacturers.

As for the sight tools I would suggest one of the MGW brand sight tool from Brownells as the Glock brand ones as not as durable as they use to be, different tool Glock sells now.

And the MGW tool will work with all the Glock models while the other tool are specific to 9mm/40/357/45 GAP or 45/10mm.

I would also suggest 9mm in the Glock platform, if you would like a 40SW take a look at the M&P pistols from S&W, or the HK or Sig Sauer pistols.

Thanks, I had looked into the MGW. I thought the GLOCK tool might be a little easier on the wallet but did not realize that they were caliber specific!

I figured as much about the sights but had needed to change FS heights on 1911s when I changed bullets so wasn’t sure being new to .40. Just wondered what the popular sight choices were!

Thanks,

If you can find one of the old Glock tools they’re rock solid. The newer ones are nothing to write home about. Also if you buy the MGW from Brownells, should anything ever happen to it, they have great customer service and will make it right. Not that anything should happen to it, it’s a very well built tool, just keep it oiled properly.

Also remember the Rear sight pusher for the Glocks is just that for the “rear”. The front sight tools are separate and just to loosen the screw on the inside of the side. The Glock front sights are not dove tailed in like let’s say a 1911, S&W M&P, Browning, HK, etc…

Good Luck

I knew the front sights were threaded but I found the rear tool at glockparts.com and they want a hefty $140 for it so the $85 for the MGW sounds much better! There are nut driver bits that will remove the nut under the FS so that is a better idea to me anyway!

Thanks,

Sparky
