I’ve been back and forth on my next smokewagon purchase. Despite not falling in love at first grasp, with the 21SF, I still have it high in the ranking for most likely outcome.
Since all my side irons are in .45, I’m sticking with the platform.
Since I have a magical way of choosing pistols that nobody makes decent holsters for, my first pressing question is:
Does anyone make a kydex holster, for the 21SF w/X300?
This is the configuration I’d like to have for an EDC weapon.
Since this will be my first personal Glock, what should I consider for upgrades and tweaks out-of-the-box?
How’s the reliability track record? I don’t expect it to perform like the 19/17, but I’d hope it’s better than the .40s.
Is there anyone out there making threaded barrels for it?
The problem that turned me off, initially was the grip. My main master-blaster is a USP45T, and before I’m called a hypocrite, the grip is flatter, and I personally perform well with it. The Glock’s seemed rounded, and almost like gripping a wrist; this made me feel like I was having to over-exaggerate the rotation of the weapon to release the mag. I’ve no doubt this can be ironed out through my initial ownership/courtship of the 21SF, but upon first encounter, it was cause for concern.
I’m seriously considering this as a main-sidearm to replace the USP as my EDC.
Regarding the holster, you can get a Raven Concealment kydex holster, allowing you to carry with the light attached.

RCS has received quite good reviews here. I have that exact holster on order for my G19.
A friend on this board, dave5339, carried a 21SF for a while that way. You might shoot him a PM.
Good luck to you.
Much appreciate it.
I’ve gotten to the point where I’ve considered buying a holster, THEN buying a pistol.
I have a Raven holster for my 20SF, which would otherwise fit my 21SF except I happened to buy one with the pic rail. At the time of my order, Raven Concealment did not have a holster that would fit the picatinny railed 21SF guns. Would highly recommend you buy the 21SF with the Glock rail, which may be the only way they are being produced now anyway…
I personally own a 21sf and love it. For me personally I think it is to big and heavy for EDC unless you are LEO. I like the G36 for CCW. I have put about 1000 rds through the 21sf with not problems. While this is a low round count for a Glock just giving you my experience and I have only had it for about 2 months. Out of the box I had Heine 8’s tritium 2 dot sights installed a ghost recon 3.5# connector and all the overtravel removed.
I’ve noticed the 21SF isn’t on Glock’s website. Has it been discontinued?
They don’t update their website that often… Note that their is no mention of the RTF2 grips on there either.
No offense but no matter what forum I visit the “Glock foh-tays explode” myth never seems to go away. Great thing about the internet, if you want to believe something you can always find “evidence” to back it up. Glocks are fine, they will jam, they will break, they are mechanical and not perfect. Considering how many LE agencies carry the .40 I’m not worried about it’s track record, why are you? Just curious…
PS: My family, including myself, all carry Glock .40s in different models and have for many years with no problems, along with 99% of the rest of the world.
I can certainly understand what you mean. You can wait almost a year for a holster from Milt Sparks, or other premier makers.
I could like hire someone to drill an oil well, refine the crude, make the polymer, and whittle me a Glock with a used shaving razor in less time.
But a VM2 is worth the wait. And they have fewer folks working in their particular factory.
Good luck!
