Mr. Vickers, I have admired your straight forward answers to technical questions on the forums as well as your Tac-TV productions. I have learned a great deal. I am very much interested in the details for your disfavor with the .45 ACP chambered Glock. You praise the G20 and of course the original caliber G 17/19. Years ago, in a magazine article featuring your 1911 custom work, you stated the G21 is the “worst” gun that Glock makes.
As I type this in my gun room, I am looking at a G 21 I purchased in the suburbs of Chicago when I was a P.O. there. First or second year of production, I believe. I won the 1998 State Championship IDPA Marksman Class 1st Place, out of a KY-Tac kydex holster, with this pistol. This pistol is stock but for MMC sights and a stainless recoil spring guide rod and Wolff recoil springs. I quit counting the rounds fired after I ripped the end label from my 37th case of WW/Rem hardball. I can’t begin to guess how many more factory and reloads this pistol has fired.
Years ago at an advanced armorers class in Smyrna, GA, I was offered a new gun in trade for it. They wanted to add it to a G 21 behind glass that had far more documented rounds than mine. This pistol has never failed to function that was not my fault or ammo related. It is retired. I own a newer 21 with light rail and a G 30 SF. So far, they are monotonous in their function. I expect nothing less. I own three high end 1911s, an HK45 & .45c (on yours & K. H. recommendations ) all fine pistols. As for the G 21, I would trust my life and the lives of my loved ones to it.
