Glock 19 2 pin and dot trigger bar

a couple of years ago, I updated a two pin Glock 19 #MFxxx

It came back to me much different (Gen 4 trigger bar and missing firing pin channel liner).

Anyway…I have a mess of Gen 3 DOT trigger bars.

The first one giving trigger return issues, but yet this trigger bar worked fine in a Gen 4 G17.

The second one, returns much more positive but has a funny sounding/feeling hitch and it appears the width of the trigger is dragging on the frame trigger opening.

if you pressure the trigger to one side (R/L) upon its return… it is more pronounced on the dragging feel/sound.

if you feel straight press and straight return, the drag is less.

when I updated this G19 with new parts a few years ago, I recall it had a nice Gen 3 trigger break.

Questions:
Were dot trigger bars intended for late Gen 3 and Gen 4 only?

I wonder if I have tolerance stacking (old frame and new trigger bar on opposite ends of the tolerance table)

it passes inspection and I plan to shoot it (but scratching my head)

The Gen 4 trigger bar that was in this 2 pin G19 had an absolutely horrible trigger break.

anyone have this set up with no issues?

thanks in advance

Are you referring to the connector or the bar in which the trigger shoe is connected?

I don’t know specifics, but I believe the shift from the Gen 3 models to the Gen 4 created problems with backwards compatibility. I think it had something to do with minor geometric changes related to the Gen 4 fire control group parts.

the trigger bar has a dot on top of the cruxiform.

Its the current trigger bar for Gen 3 G17s.

amd5007, I am thinking that is whats going on here.

I think you’re referring to what’s more commonly referred to as the trigger bar with “the bump” … to my knowledge, that was done only for the Gen 4s.

When you say “dot” that’s more used in describing the connector … there are dot and dashed and unmarked connectors

I’ve been having this same problem in a Gen 4 Glock 19.

Current trigger drags as I believe it is out of spec. I put in a gen 3 Glock 17 trigger bar and had issue with reset.

The trigger shoe doesn’t drag on the frame but the bar drags on the dot connector.

My next step is I’m tearing the 19 down completely and replacing the trigger bar and connector with gen 3 parts as well as replacing all the springs. I’ll work step by step to see what’s making these issues.

here is the little guy. feels good in the hand

when I say DOT trigger bar…this is what I am referring

Glock LE rep sent me some Gen 3 trigger bars and these are them.

Today, I went digging in our armory junk pile and locked cabinet. I found some old plated trigger bars that have no number. I put that trigger bar in and my function seemed to improve. Since our dept is G21 and G17/19…I hope this is not an unmarked G21 trigger bar (My guess a G21 trigger bar won’t fit). I also found a black steel G17 trigger bar with a funky raised firing pin safety depressor. Its not a straight cut, it has two cuts or two different angles. It worked in the G19.

So the older trigger bars work in the 2 pin G19…the modern one while passes inspection does drag or tolerances too tight.

In addition to fitment issue i would think the g21 bar would be stamped 4256 so that should be a 9mm one. Glad it is working for you.

yes sir. I found a bunch of 4256 trigger bars and two that were not stamped. I had not messed with these trigger bars in so many years, it was just a big question mark as to what they were. Hell, I even found some + 4256 trigger bars.

what I like about the two plated trigger bars, the firing pin safety extension/depressor and the rounded portion that rides up against the connector is smooth (as opposed to rough cut or jagged which we see these days)

the 2 pinner has one NFML mag that gets stuck in the gun to the point where it takes some effort to remove. The mag release cut in the mag body is all bugered up. I don’t like to throw things away…but this mag body will be trashed.

thanks for the info all. I guess being a mini hoarder (of old gun parts…HA!) paid off.

There really aren’t any geometry changes in the Gen. 4 pistols anywhere, but for some reason, people continue passing that rumor along.

Every Glock OEM part from a Gen.3 pistol can be installed in, and will properly fit and function in a Gen.4 pistol, except for the trigger housing itself and the recoil spring assembly.
The ONLY geometry change is at the bottom of the trigger housing on the Gen.4, all other parts are identical. The housing was made thinner to fit the “SF” style grip, that’s the only change from the previous generation standard pistol. The FS specific pistols also have the thinner bottom trigger housing.
All other OEM Glock parts are interchangeable between generations and will function properly.

Glock has also made some slight changes to areas of the trigger bar but they are able to be used in either generation and will function properly.
