Yep, this is my 1st post on this forum, but wanted to share my excitement on my new G17.
Purchased a G17 Gen 4 yesterday, but must wait 10 days to retrieve (3rd of Aug).
Very excited to give it a range test and report back. When the dealer opened the 1st box, the spring didn’t have a stamp on it, of course I said no-way. The second box had “02” stamped on the spring with a date of 6/16/2010 for the shell casing.
Therefore my testing will be with a “02” spring and various ammo.
Advertised locally my G26 and 5 magazines for sale of $400, purchased the weapon Jan of 2010. Love the G26, but with the heat etc., my Kel-Tec .380 with a rear pocket holster is the cats meow. The extra monies from the sell will enable me to purchase goodies for the G17.
Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new G17. I wouldn’t get wrapped around the axles about the recoil spring. There’s a lot of hoopla over on GT about it but plenty of guys here, that actually shoot their guns, have had better luck with the orginal one.
