Glass display cases for soil

I have a bunch of sand I’ve collected from around the world, and I’d like to be able to display it nicely. Right now my Iraqi sand is in a water bottle, for example.

I’m looking for something that isn’t too pricey, but looks classy and I can perhaps label and stick on a shelf next to my recently-built “love me” wall. Would prefer something about the size of a soda can with clear glass.

Any ideas?

For straight up clean and simple, lab glass ware comes to mind (http://www.amazon.com/Vestil-BTL-GN-8-CS-Threaded-Diameter-Capacity/dp/B0052P2EUW/ref=sr_1_30?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1415890005&sr=1-30). If you look around, I’m sure you could find some reagent bottles with glass stoppers which might look a tad classier (http://www.amazon.com/213T5-Karter-Scientific-Reagent-Stopper/dp/B006VYY4MY/ref=pd_sim_indust_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=0DCMBKM6CX797DH9YWP4).

The other option that comes to mind is apothecary jars, which come in more ornate styles and variable sizes.

What’s a boat without a beach?

A matched set of glasses for alcohol in whatever size is appropriate (wine, brandy, shot glasses, etc.) put on a nice wood display rack. You could even have rows of different sizes based on the amount of sand you have.

Mason jar?

You can use small bottles like the ones in the links and place them in a Shot Glass Display case.

Don’t know why, my father decided to start collecting shot glasses from their travels. He has a display case, with a glass door. Keeps everything nice and neat and you don’t have to worry about dusting each glass as you would if they were out on a shelf.

Let me class this thread up a bit.

Now wait a minute, is this really for a hydroponic grow op?

I kid, I kid. Euro, your post reminded me of the scene in SPR where Tom Sizemore collects sand from Omaha beach and throws it in his ruck with sand from their other landings.

Found this and thought it was actually a good idea. Then you wouldn’t need a ton of bottles. If you had enough sand you could do this for display and then save the rest in individual bottles like empty splice bottles or something like that.
