This is one of those “didn’t need it but it was on sale for $375” purchases. Basic Turkish Beretta 92 with a Brigadier-contoured slide. Only came with one 18-round mag but I think these will accept standard Beretta mags (?). Non-chrome lined CHF barrel. As with many of the Turkish guns, fit and finish look impeccable. Overall shape reminds me a little bit of an M9A1.
I have it’s more basic older brother Regard MC which I paid $25 more for just over a year ago. The dovetailed front sight and checkering in place of the MC’s finger grooves are solid upgrades. The thin Girsan grips are a good design - fortunate, since B92 grips are not a straight swap.
Mine has been trouble free to date and works great with B92/M9 mags.
I swapped in a “D” model mainspring, a Wilson Combat short reach trigger, and a Beretta skeletonized hammer. I have a “G” (decock only) kit as well but have not installed it.
The “D” spring is a must have IMHO, and I would suggest swapping the mainspring cap roll pin for a solid “dogbone” pin at the same time.
Are you sure it doesn’t have a chrome lined barrel?
I have been happy with my Girsan, and hope you are with yours!
Haven’t done any in-depth research, but I wasn’t aware that any of Girsan’s “MC” series guns had a chromed bore. Although I recall some advertising literature mentioning hammer-forged barrels.
I have a couple. The first is a Regard Six which is pretty much a regular 92 with some different milling of the slide. The second is an MC39 which is a compact with a frame mounted safety. I have no idea why Beretta doesn’t offer them this way.
