I’ve got a question about the GG&G agency sling mount (single point). Does anyone have any experience with these? Do they hold up and should I lock-tite the screws?
I Have one of these on a rifle that will probably become a duty gun. I want to be sure it’s GTG before running it when it counts…
Is it a first generation or second generation? Second generation is open at the top. The first generation clamps onto the tube and the second generation clamps onto the castle nut. Second generation is best.
It is a first generation version. I looked at pictures online before I purchased but couldn’t see a real difference in durability.
Is this version considered GTG or should I consider it a $20 mistake and try to offload it? Subjective question I know but consider that this will be a duty rifle and its reliability is of supreme importance to me.
They changed the design because they found it didn’t stay tight on mil-spec tubes. If you have a commercial tube you are probably okay. That being said, I replaced both of my first generation mounts with second generation mounts.
Looks like it would work well. However, I do not have a stock wrench and my castle nut is well staked. (build done by rainier arms)
Thats why I went with the agency. I am no build expert so I didn’t want to screw with it. Short of ordering the tools, are there any other good no-mod single point sling mounts?
I have one on each of my M4s. They hold up well. I did lock tight the screw. Locktite makes a blue version for firearms. Went thru two carbine courses and it didn’t rattle loose.
