Hey guys, I’m going to be purchasing a Noveske 18" barrel soon. I’m going to be sending my BCM bolt to them to headspace with the barrel. Do you think I should buy another bolt for spare and have them headspace that one also? If so, do you think I should buy another BCM or should I just buy one of the CMT (MPI) bolts they have? The BCM bolt would end up costing $23 more than the CMT with the extra $ in price and shipping.
The best thing to do if you plan on swapping bolts around is to get a “Field” gage from Bushmaster or BillRicca.com if he still has them. Then you can headspace them yourself. It is very easy to do. I would also feel comfortable with a CMT bolt as well, even though BCM has quality stuff.
