Generation Lost?

A friend of mine sent me this true story today. This story illustrates how our children have or are losing their ability to employ critical thinking. Here is my friends story.

I was in my car in our office complex finishing up a call when I noticed a 18-19 year old girl looking in the window of a car. She had something in her hand but I really could not see what it was but what I could tell was that she was very frustrated. After 10 minutes, I ended the call, got out, and began walking towards the office. She yelled excuse me sir can you give me a jump. I asked her what was going on. She said I have been pressing the key to unlock the doors and it won’t open. I asked could I see the key. After pressing the unlock button on the key fob, I confirmed that she was correct, it would not unlock the door. I then walked around the car placed the key in the lock and opened the door. Cranked up the car and said there you go. Your battery in your key fob is dead. She responded so I don’t need a jump. I smiled and said take your key fob to the radio shack across the street and have them place a battery in it for you. SMH!!!

I hate to make a blonde joke but? But yes critical thinking is forgotten skill for sure.

I weep for our future.

Tell her she needs blinker fluid . . .

Wait till she tries to put the big 12v 450 cranking amp battery in her key fob…

I wish I could say that’s the worse example I’ve heard.

Sadly, this isn’t just confined to the so-called “generation lost”. I can point out many examples of others even in my age bracket that are borderline…

+1 only to add you might want to add some Thinker fluid while you at just as well…
