Alright, i just picked a used Gen 3 G19 and it came with a pair of new gen4 factory 15 round mags. One of the mags is making a strange noise when it’s loaded. It’s sounds like a rattle sound. But it only makes this sound when it has 14 rounds instead of 15 in the mag. It sounds like something is loose, either spring or follower… I’ve never heard a mag do this before, and it’s not all the time either. Very strange, anyone ever had this before? Would glock replace the mag if i contact them? Thing that bothers me is it’ll make the sound even when i just pick it up…
I just tested a few of my own, and they all do it. I have a G19, too, and have both GEN 3 & 4 G19 mags and Gen 4 G17 mags. Download one, and they all rattle a little bit.
Ive not had any issues with any of them so I suspect its not anything to worry about. FWIW Ive had other pistol mags (non Glock) have a little rattle depending on how many rounds are in them.
okay, well at least I’m not as crazy as I thought. Just thought it was weird since non of my G23 mags do it… Oh well as long as it doesn’t affect functionality that’s all that matters. Thanks.
Drives me nuts. I download to a round count that won’t rattle.
