Gen 3 vs. Gen 4 Glock Grip sizes

Hey everyone,

I have heard a few things, maybe rumors, floating around. What I need to know is…Is the Gen 4 G17 smallest grip size the same size as the Gen 3 G17’s grip size?

If so, then I dont see the point in buying a Gen 4 for me personally. If the Gen 4 offers a smaller grip than the Gen 3 then that is something for me to look into.

The medium back strap is similar to a Gen 3, not the absence of a back strap.

Sorry if I am an idiot (very possible) but I dont totally understand what your saying.

Small = no back strap installed
Medium = smallest of the 2 back straps provided
Large = largest of the 2 back straps provided

Medium = Similar to Gen 3

Thanks for the help. I guess I might rather wait and get a G4 since the grip is smaller. Ive always been fine with a G3 but having something slimmer/smaller would be nice.

The gen 4’s are not slimmer in side to side width; the only change in dimensions is that the distance between the front strap and back strap area on the grip is slightly shorter.
