I ordered some ammo to go with my new AR and while I was at it the website (omitted for now) indicated they have the Rear Gen2 MBUS in stock. Having read the differences (lighter, no app window sight N.W.A.S, smaller, etc) I had already set my mind to the Gen2 over the Gen1 and was really happy to find it.
From what I can tell, and I might be wrong, I was shipped a Gen1 Rear. I went to Magpul’s website and they say “Coming Soon”. Does anyone know if this is because they are currently out of stock or are they not on the market yet? (I say Gen1 because it looks like all the others Gen1’s I see and the large app does not seem to fold down. Also the Magpul logo is on the base and not the pop up section)
Any company can make a mistake and this post is not intended to bash “omitted site”. Simply to get some help figuring this out and to help others avoid the same issue if it is indeed one.
My question is can anyone confirm the MBUS Gen2’s are out and available? Also should I edit my post to include the company to help others avoid this same situation until they resolve it should this truly be a Gen1?
Sadly not. Notice how the Magpul logo is on the pop up vertical section of the Gen2. Mine has the logo on the lower horizontal rail section. Seems I will need to call said company tomorrow.
Thanks for the help guys. Called them today and they apologized. Luckily they include a pre-paid return postage decal with their shipments so the return will be hassle free.
