I went with the AAC M4 2000 mod 2007. Chose it due to construction, warranty, and mounting. I can not say anything bad about the Gemtech as I have never used one. I have no regrets with the AAC and it works flawlessly.
same here,I had the M42000 and it rocked(I sold it to fund a USO).I can say alot about Gemtechs craftsmanship and CS because I had a can of theirs which I sold for 65 bucks.I had a 5.7 can, short story is they told me to take a dremel tool to my 5.7 or get another model 5.7 so their 5.7 can sucked for me and so did their CS.AAC’s CS has always been top notch for me.Im not bashing Gemtech as a whole but just how they treated me and mt can/pistol combo.
Cyclone, who did you talk to at Gemtech? Kel is a good friend of mine and his customer service is nearly legendary in my circles. Shoot me a PM if you need assistance and I’ll bring it to his attention. He is one of the good guys.

Good to hear,I never dealt with Kel before but I was in contact with someone on another forum who worked for them,I guess my compalint should be with him .
Construction on the M4-2000 is supposed to be superior. If it were me, AAC all the way.
If I ever upgrade beyond my M4-1000, it’ll be an M4-2000 for sure.
+1,the M42000 has superior materials and the G5 still has some issues they need to work with. The M402 Ive heard is decent but Id stick with the AAC model.
I have shot the G5, but never the M4-2000 so I will not compare or contrast them. The G5 did not overly impress me. I had about a 3" POI shift at 100yds with it and found the can to not be very quiet.
For comparison, my SF 556K has no POI shift and is quieter than the G5.
I will say though that I like the Gemtech guys a lot and think they run a very good operation.

The M42000 does have some POI shift when I shot it but it was minimal out to 100 yards, maybe 1-2 inches at the most,at 75 yards there was none.
I like the SF line too.
+1 for Kel at Gemtech!
Great cans!
Great service!
The more I hear the SF 556, the more I like it.
I’d put that one at the top of my list.
Between the AAC M4-2000 and Gemtech G5 I would choose the M4-2000 again. Even if they had not made the changes they made.
Though if you want to save some money and get a very sweet can, get the M4-1000 and move on.
