Hey fellas, I just paid 531 out the door for a Gemtech HVT-QM, and I feel pretty good about the price.so what did I get? I don’t see a ton of info out there on Gemtevh, correct that they do a bit of military work?
It’s old tech for sure. I’ve seen a few HVT-QM’s come through the shop where the bi-lug module had broken free from the suppressor body and would freely spin. Gem-tech handled it each and every time but it became frustrating after a while. This has happened on a lot of Gem-tech’s older suppressors and was one of the driving reasons why we no longer stock them.
I knew they had some new stuff and that was the reason for the big sale. Anything in particular you remember causing that malfunction?
Not in particular. The weld near the bottom would break at some point and whenever the user went to take off the can the tube would thread off while the QM module stayed on the muzzle device. It happens more often with G5s from what I’ve seen, but keep an eye on it nonetheless.
