Geissele SSA trigger

I’m looking for an aftermarket trigger to drop in my new build. I’ve narrowed it down to either the Geissele SSA or just going with Bill Springfield’s LPK with the trigger work already done. I’m well aware of Springfield’s excellent work and reputation, so I know what I’m getting if I go with him. I’m wondering… for those who have used the SSA, how’s it held up over the few years that it’s been on the market. I’ve read other forums discussing the SSA, but they were a few years old, so now that it’s been around, what’s the verdict on them now? Thanks in advance for all the input.

My Springfield trigger doubled repeatedly so I removed it from the gun and discarded/destroyed it. Sample of one, but I won’t bother making that mistake again.

I love my SSA…it’s amazing. And i’ve shot with timney’s and bill springfields.

The SSAs are truly amazing.

I dropped the SSA into the lower that My Noveske Reccee upper sits on. The trigger is awesome. Worth the money.

Has anyone run the SSA with the heavy power spring to ignite the 5.45 primers? I am thinking about doing this and wondering If i would notice how big a difference it would make with the extra power hammer spring.

Ive been thinking about getting one to put in the lower Im going to build for my BCM upper. Cant say Ive heard too many negative reviews.

I’ve got a Giessele SSA in my duty M&P-15A and also my BCM4 and you can count me as a satisfied customer.

I use the SSA in my guns at home and we had some of his select fire triggers at my old unit. No issues at high round counts that I can recall seeing or hearing about.

I like them, and think they’re worth the money. Another cool thing is Bill answers the phone and will help you with anything he can when you call them.

The carbine I used in the VTAC 3-day Night Fighter Course last month had an Geissele SSA trigger on it. I went through about 1200 rounds and it ran without any issues whatsoever.

I had a similar experience to Rob’s. If you have the money, just get the SSA. If you don’t, save a little while and get the SSA.

i have both the SSA and SSF and they’re nice triggers and definitely worth the money. I never had any problems, and would buy again.

however…

the trigger pull is nowhere near as crisp as his hi-speed trigger common on service rifles. THAT is an amazing trigger.

it’s nowhere near as crisp as most of my other match triggers (KAC, jewell, etc) either.

but…

i don’t really need/want a trigger that crisp on a gun i’m using for SD or in classes, or tossed in the back seat of my truck, etc. so i’m not complaining. it’s pretty much what i need.

Well I went with the SSA. I couldn’t pass up a great deal on one. $125.00!! Thanks for all the input fellas.

Care to share where you got that price?

That is super cheap.

I found it on gunbroker. Pretty sure it was a one time deal. The guy had the SSA and a match trigger, not sure which one, and decided to build with the match trigger instead of the SSA. I got really lucky!

Get the Geissele, you won;t regret it!

I have two SSA installed and I would highly recommend them.

Has anyone here owned/shot the SSA and the NM Service Geissele?

Is the extra ~$100 justified for the NM, or is the SSA 95% of the quality for 60% of the price?
