So i last week in installed a Geissele SSA in my LMT lower, and after only 20 rounds my hammer pin is walking out.
Since i bought this trigger second hand i wonder if the pins are genuine Geissele. The hammer pin only has one cut in the middle, and the trigger pin only has one cut on the very end.
All of my Geissele pins have a groov in the middle and on one end for both trigger and hammer. I had recently lost a set of pins during a rebuild and i contacted Geissele and they sent me a set of new pins in less then a week. They have Great C.S.!
I don’t think they’re original pins either. As others have noted, mine are dimpled on the ends, and each pin has two grooves, one in the middle and one toward the end.
I suggest contacting Geissele to get a legitimate set of pins.
Either the trigger is a knock off, or the person who sold it to you didn’t realize that you should be using the original pins. In any case they don’t look legit to me either.
Glad to hear you emailed Geissele already. I’m sure you’ll hear from them on Monday. Knowing how cool Bill and his crew are, they probably won’t even charge you for them. Their customer service just plain rocks.
Info is already posted about getting the correct pins. Also, ensure that the hammer spring is installed so that the spring legs come from the underside and rest in the grooves on top of the trigger pin.
eta…disregard. I now see OP had a trigger pin issue, not the hammer pin.
Bill Geissele will get you squared away. I had a minor issue with one of my triggers and he took care of my issue very quickly. Shoot him an email. Those are definitely not Geissele trigger pins.
