Anyone tried their precision ammo? I know many have tried their canned heat but not sure how many have tired “Precision” ammo. Mainly the 308 caliber. Also what are peoples thought’s on HSM precision ammo? I know their have been problem sin the past and was just wondering if they have gotten that fixed. Just trying to find a good source of precision ammo.
I haven’t used either’s precision stuff but have used Canned Heat and hsm practice ammo. I had one case breakage with the Canned Heat and that was it (500 rounds). With the hsm I have had zero problems. Both are or at least in my cases lake city brass and 55grain FMJ.
Sorry bro, friends don’t let friends shoot GA products. They have a reputation for blowing up carbines/ rifles and not making it right.
I know of (6) carbines (2, I personally witnessed!) that they have KB! There are a couple of training companies that I know of that have dropped GA.
I have pics!

I like the HSM stuff.

I have said this to as many people as possible about Ga Arms ammo. A few years ago me and my dad bought a case of Ga Arms Precision “168 Grain Match” .308 at a gunshow from Ga Arms. I had several blown primers, one of which was so bad that small pieces of primer got blown into my face. We were at a range about 15 miles from the nearest town and I got the pleasure of sitting there while my dad picked about 12 small pieces of metal out from around my eye. Luckly I had on eye protection. We had to take a mallet to the bolt to get it to open and the little metal clip that fits around the inside of a M700 bolt face was destroyed. I called them and fussed about it and their attitude was basically, “So what”. I will never buy another round of their ammo and strongly suggest that you don’t either. It was a very unpleasant experience.
Don’t know about the .308, but I use GA Precison Plus 55 grain Nosler balistic tip round for long range stages in 3 gun competitions. $12.50/20 rounds.
This rounds shoot sub-MOA consistanty out of my 20" Colt barrel with a 1/12 twist.

You guys are making me nervous. Ive got 2K in the back of my truck!
2000 rounds of Precision Plus or the reloaded stuff? If it’s Precision Plus, then you have a big chunk of $ in that ammo.
Seriously, I had about 12 bloody spots on my face and spent the better part of an afternoon having it picked out. I am not one to make a big stink about stuff, and I contacted them about it so that they may be able to keep this from happening to someone else. I cannot imagine how it would have been if I had been shooting that stuff in an M1A or any other semi. If you do shoot it, make damn sure that you wear your glasses.
Glad you’re OK.
That’s exactly why I ALWAYS wear eyes - no matter what I’m shooting. You just never know . . .
I had a .40 blow the barrel in a Glock. I would have lost one or both eyes without eye protection.
