I’m looking at getting one of these three as a backup gun, but I would like to see a size comparison first if possible. I have been to all the LGS’s but non have all three. If anyone here have a picture of the three, or even just two of them that would be much appreciated. If no pics are available just your experience with any of the three (especially the p2000) that would also be great. Thanks
If you’re looking for something to backup your duty weapon, mag interchangeability would be the deciding factor.
Your absolutely right, I neglected to mention that my edc is a g19. But I have been thinking about switching to ether an M&P 9fs or an HK P30 or an p2000. That’s why I’m trying to compare these three pistols. I’m trying to settle on one pistole system, and I want to try a few different pistols before I settle on anything. Thank you vary much for the link.
If you’re happy with your G19 I would stick with the same platform and get the G26 as a BUG. I’m pretty sure it’s the smallest of the three you mentioned too.
The P2000Sk is identical to the G26 in length, but the grip is approx. 1/2" longer (with the flat mag floorplates).
Unloaded the Sk weighs 1lb. 8.25 oz., the G26 weighs 1 lb. 5.75 oz.
I’ve found that the Sk shoots more like a G19 sized pistol than a 26 sized pistol, probably due to the longer grip.
My Sk LEM has been flawless in function for several thousand rounds.
While I’d have no reservations carrying a G26, I prefer the Sk because it carries like a sub-compact but shoots like a mid-sized pistol.
To me it’s the best all around compact out there.
Another deciding factor for me is the hammer. I carry AIWB and like to ride the hammer when re-holstering for that little extra safety margin.
Well I’m not completely happy with the g19, that’s why I’m looking into the HK and M&P.
I shoot and compete with many of the FLETC USBP instructors and find the P2000 LEM to be an excellent platform.
I’ve been completely satisfied with mine, and the instructors like theirs (and shoot them very well).
Their only real complaint is capacity, most would like something with closer to 15 rounds.
^^^^^^thanks for the information, I have really been looking into the HK’S in LEM. They seem to offer everything I’m looking for in a concealed carry pistol. The price can be a little high but you get what you pay for.
And, if you adopt the P30 and/or P2000 as a primary, then the mags will interchange. Personally, as Jody noted, there is no reason not to use the SK as a primary CCW, it more than fits the bill.
P2000SK is my primary CCW, but I originally selected it to compliment my P2000 that was CCW this time. I based it on reason to have consistent weapon manipulation, same trigger, interchangeable mags. Now my secondary CCW is P30L (there is logic in that - believe me).
On same logic, if one uses Glock as CCW then having 17/26 or 19/26 combo makes more sense that mixing up Glock and HK.
As to silhouette, P2000SK and G26 have (per real world use) same size both sideways and in thickness. Walther PPS is same sideways, but like 1/3rd thinner.
