Just wondering if the G&R Tactical LPK still comes with an LMT marked bolt catch and selector. I’m asking this because I want to know if the AR shop used the G&R Tactical LPK I told them to order or if they just used some other LPK and thought I wouldn’t notice the difference.
Also, the magazine catch was out of spec. I could easily rip out all of my PMAGs and my steel mags fell out while I was just walking around. Pretty sure this mag catch wouldn’t be found in a G&R LPK.
Other things:
My selector doesn’t have any markings like the LMT selector pictured on Grant’s website. I also can’t see any LMT markings on the bolt catch.
At this point, I’m 90% sure they didn’t use a G&R Tactical LPK, but I need to be 100% sure because I don’t want to call them out on it and look like an ass if it actually ends up being the correct parts kit.
Thought I’d get a fast answer here from someone who recently purchased one of his kits. I was going to contact Grant directly if I didn’t get a definitive answer from this thread.
For me, just the selector. Received the kit last week.
Wait, you’re having a shop assemble the lower for you? And they told you they were using a G&R LPK? Just getting some clarity…was a little confused by the first post.
My bolt catch from G&R is LMT marked (“MT”) as was my safety selector (got them within the last year).
On the rest of it, Grant is pretty tight-lipped about who makes what. I suppose we are to take his word for it, but most people report good experiences with his LPK.
If you happen to own a factory LMT lower it’s easy to figure out which G&R parts are LMT.
I’ve assembled a couple lowers now using G&R LPKs and they are the best I’ve found. It’s nice when every single part fits properly and functions smoothly.
Don’t know, but for the mag catch, just push on the magazine release button with a pointy object like a pencil and turn the magazine catch on the other side clockwise (is that right?) to tighten it. One or two turns should be sufficient.
In the spirit of “inspect what you expect,” or “Trust, but verify,” this is worth a look prior to claiming the catch as out of spec and maybe buying a new part you might not need.
How do those things work anyway? Installation and whatnot I mean.
I held a commiefornia BM ACR and pressed the mag release and thought the gun was broken because the mag release wouldn’t move. Took me about three seconds to realize where I was and I was glad I was just passing through.
Really depends on the who made the BB. The ones we like to use for guns shippped to CA just require you to put something in the hole (of the BB) to release the mag.
