FYI: Hurricane Ike - G&R Tactical

FYI: Due to the remnants of hurricane IKE G&R Tactical is currently without power, Internet, phone, ETC. Unfortunately they will be unable to process orders, answer emails, or the phone until these services are restored. Orders can still be placed online but they will not be able to process them until power/internet is restored.

Thank you for your understanding.

I am about 2.5 hours from Grant’s place and we got clobbered last night with 50 mph winds and no power for three hours.

Lucky for me my carbine has a light on it.

Hope G is back up and running soon.

Grant’s one in a million.

(People in Ohio without power, that is.)

Here in the Columbus area, we got hammered pretty good, and I know it’s pretty bad up New Philly way, too.

Lest we forget, nothing like SE Texas and SW Louisiana. We got Ike Light.

Don’t know where my post went??? Anyway, good luck Grant. Hope you are back up and running soon.

hey Grant:

my sons girl works for Progress Energy (NC power co.) she said they are sending crews up your way to help get the power back on. hope your not out too long…

Thanks guys. All is well, but I don’t think I will have power, internet or phone till Sunday.

I thought Ike went through Texas.

How did it make it all the way up to Ohio?? I guess I should come out from under my rock and look at some satellite photos…

It was kinda like “Ike Lite” – what was a hurricane and a tropical storm became a low that blew like hell over the upper Midwest Sunday. No rain to speak of, at least not from that system, but major wind damage in Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Lotsa folks still in the dark.

Grant, I hope you and your family are all safe, and all is well with your business on Monday. Your safety is way more important than any orders.

Having said all that - when your power is back up, I have an order for you. I want to pick up one of those Bushy pencil uppers and a G&R LPK.

Thanks, and stay safe.

Give us a call next week. We should be up and running.

Tropical storms often extend up into the Great Lakes Region when a hurricane makes landfall. Hurricane Ike downgraded to Tropical Storm status by the time it hit Stark County, OH knocking out electrical service to 47,000 people in Stark. Grant is in the adjacent county. Sunday night sustained winds of 40+ mph & gusts to 70 mph lasted 4 - 5 hrs. Hotel rooms sold-out immediately - ice was $4.00 small bag in some areas, until it ran out. Our electricity came on last night after 50 hrs.

At one point, AEP reported that 24,340 of its 34,168 customers in Tuscarawas County, Ohio were without power. As of a few minutes ago, the number of outages had been reduced to 10,557.

We got power back today (minor miracle). We will be picking up a propane powered, power plant (generator) this month.

So does that mean orders placed before the power went out, will start shipping?:D:D

I’ve got middy handguards on the way. I can’t wait to shoot!

EDIT:
I can’t believe your middies are still in stock! What are you guys waiting for?? Order up!

Cincinnati got hit hard as well, up to 650,000 homes were without power initally but it has gotten alot better.
Our power is back on today, things are looking up.

If it’s what I’m thinking of, it’s about the size of a short bus and a good choice. We’re considering the dual-power (propane/natural gas) version. The Missus has a source. Set a cistern and you’re all set for TEOTWAWKI.

I sure will. I’m glad things are getting better there.

Correct.

Shoot me a PM if you have a good source for a quality generator (need installation as well).

PM sent.
