Fun Project

Got my PRO in this last month and was wanting something to protect it because I carry the rifle in a tool bag… probably doesn’t need it but it makes me feel better.

I priced out scope coats and wait times, but figured I need a project and had a lot of old neoprene sitting around in the form of wetsuits. I’m always up for an imaginative project.

  1. getting a reasonably square piece out of a wetsuit was a bit of a challenge.

  2. I’ve been wanting to try sewing with braided fishing line, I figure it would be good for webbing repairs etc, but I stored some and haven’t had a project. That’s a small sailmaker’s needle, which turned out pretty good for this. The neoprene wasn’t hard to sew.

  3. Finished project. I put the 550 in there mostly because I wanted to know front from back. I’ll trim the loose ends and put a drop of super glue on them.

That’s cool… but I think you should just put some flip-up caps on it, and rock on… the finish on the Aimpoint will catch up to the rest of the rifle

Well, I’ve been working on getting the paint off the rifle so that I can repaint the whole thing…

I want to make one more range trip testing the PRO before I do it.

So the finish will be homogenous before to long.

Nice!!

Thats definitely a job for a blasting cabinet!
