Fulton Armory Titan 308

Does anyone have any experience good or bad with Fulton Armory’s Titan rifles? Looking at a 18.5 UPC. Thanks

I recently bought a Fulton Armory Titan and am pleased with the quality of the build and in my dealings with Fulton. They accurately quoted a build time line and when I had a service issue, Clint the President personally called to resolve the situation. I ordered a Titan with a medium contour, 18.5" Krieger Criterion barrel in stainless which uses a rifle length gas system. A chrome lined, chome-moly barrel is also an available option (among many). Upper/lower receivers are private label DPMS built for Fulton, gas block is EGW, and float tube is YHM. Bolt carrier is hard chromed, anodizing is covered by a black teflon finish, and barrel is bead blasted. Upper receiver has a case deflector and forward assist but since the bolt carrier lacks teeth for the assist to engage, I doubt there is much real world functionality. The “M4 cuts” were milled after coating and the cuts look symmetrical when viewed straight on. I just mounted the scope and have a bunch of match ammo en route. Very curious as to how it will shoot once I get to the range.

When I was researching, I had a hard time finding detailed pics/info on these so hopefully this post will be of assistance. All in all, I think it these are a good option for those not operating with OSR/SR-25 level budgets.

So far so good, thanks. Already have the lower, a DPMS, brand new, that I got for a steal.

I’ve been very happy with mine. Never any problems.

The forward assist does work as it is supposed to on the last bit of movement of the carrier. It pushes against the shoulder of the carrier. That is how DPMS designed their uppers / carriers.

The OSR is priced at $2500. That rifle cost you less than $2500?

Yep - little less than $2K for rifle before addition of the MIAD, pig, and optional rail sections.

BTW - no range report yet as I had to swap the La Rue LT-158 for an LT-104 since the cant on 158 wasn’t workable for my applications.

Any range report Powder Burn?

Yep - just got back from the local 100 yard range. Best two groups today included this 6 shot group (oops) that measures .942. If you give me a mulligan for the flyer at the top right (which of course was the 6th shot ), the size shrinks to .692. The next five shot group measured .817. Pretty pleased considering that I have very average rifle skills and was using a standard military trigger. For comparison, military M80 groups at around 2.5 MOA.

Since this is primarily a rifle for dispatching wild hogs, I wanted something for quick engagement in cases where there are many. I’m currently running a Trijicon TR20G which has a reticle like this…so far, so good:

Performance wise, the rifle runs reliably if you eliminate DPMS and C-product mags from the equation and use the new PMAG LR20’s. I have run Lithuanian M80, Prvi 168gr match HP, Hornady TAP 168gr HP, & old Winchester M80 w/o issue so long as you keep some lube on the bolt carrier. These guns are very tight at first.

Yes - thanks for the correction…

Thanks for the range report. I have a Fulton M110 upper on order.

Not my first choice of 308 upper but GAP is backed up for several months. They stopped making DPMS compatible uppers due to DPMS changing the specs on their upper receivers.

I considered GAP as well but when I inquired, they were unable to procure receivers from DPMS and thus had no clear build timetable for DPMS pattern builds. Since Fulton Armory has receivers built under private label to their requirements, I would hope that this mitigates any spec change issues that might exist. I also just learned that DPMS has made .308 upper receivers with three different rail heights and subsequently some receiver rails may not align properly with aftermarket rails. The new version of the receiver is .060" lower than the older one which can cause an elevation difference between some rails and the upper receiver rail. Perhaps this is what GAP is talking about…

Post up some pics after you put the new M110 upper to work. Fulton has a sub-MOA guarantee and some rifles have delivered close to 1/2 MOA in published reports.

$2000 buys you dremeled M4 feedramps these days?

No Dremel - I think they are using a mill since the cuts are uniform. I would have preferred they cut the ramps pre-anodizing but I am not losing any sleep over it either. Reminds me of one of my old Colt’s

No offense, but they look uneven and downright awful. Considering M4 uppers are easier to get than non-ramped uppers, they should have used a factory upper.

We’re talking .308 platform here…not 5.56

I forgot about the .308 receiver…

Duly noted but I stand by my comments about the quality of them. Maybe it’s an optical illusion?
