what do I need to legally have a full auto? a friend on mine has a B.A.R that is FA, is it a tax stamp I need?
all legal machineguns were registered before 1986- you have to buy one of those and have it transfered to you… they’re usually between 7-20k for an AR
As stated, the first thing you need to find out is if the BAR is Transferable (Was it registered as an NFA item prior to the 1986 Hughes Amendment to the FOPA?).
Then you have to do a transfer via Form 4 which means paying the $200 for the tax stamp. Depending on the situation, it may require paying the $200 transfer fee twice.

You’ll also need the form 4 signed by your Police Chief, DA or a Judge in your city. Even though they face no liability for anything you do with the gun often times they won’t sign. The alternative is to form a corporation or trust and you can purchase NFA without a signoff.
and we’re only speaking of machineguns at the federal level- make sure to check your state laws, as a lot of states have additional hoops to jump or simply don’t allow civilian full auto at all.
Machine guns are only for the elite. Please get back to work you need to pay off another 10k with the next stimulus bill.
