FSB?

I was cleaning my ADS Carbine the other day and for the first time I noticed a nice amount of bore cleaner around the FSB. I should have taken pics now that I think of it , but I didn’t, stupid me:( . So, should I be concerned or am I’m being a paranoid for nothing? The rifle is an animal and eats everything I put in it , no short strokes or FTE’s or FTF’s.Thanks in advance for replies.

The term “don’t fix it if it aint broke” comes to mind …

Seriously, if it is reliable - then I would not worry. Though I would not say it is normal to have leaks at times in that area, it does not mean either that your rifle will be prone to malfunctions or will malfunction if it happens to have a small leak there.

just my .02 cents.

Are you saying that there’s bore solvent leaking thru the gas port and out the FSB?

I’ve never had this happen to any of my guns.

If your FSB fits poorly enough that solvent gets through, then I think you would have a major gas leak. I’m not sure though as I have never seen one that bad in my short AR experience.

Are you sure it is not a small gas leak? Does it look like a brownish, rust looking stain around the barrel where it passes through the gas block?

Kinda like this:

The consensus seems to be that if your gun has a small gas leak but runs reliably on quality ammo, you are OK.

my ADS is not doing that, but if it functions 100% with all kinds of ammo it is GTG.

That is where the bore cleaner is coming from. What I’ll do tomorrow when I get off of work is run some more bore cleaner through it and take a picture. It has never displayed any discoloration at all when I have shot it.
