Actually, you are agreeing with me. If the FSB was incorrectly drilled at the factory, no pounding of the FSB will ever fix it.
Two lessons learned. Always check zero BEFORE you remove anything and never buy DPMS. ![]()

Great job, man!
Time to head out and shoot! ![]()
No, I don’t agree with you. Your attempt to CYA after the fact is amusing. I stated early in the thread that the FSB was canted from the factory. You just assumed it was installed inproperly by me.
Just returned from the range and with two clicks from center, it’s zero’ed.
No more time for “Tit for Tat” with the so called experts on this issue.![]()
Yes, you did. I specifically state in this thread that if it is a DPMS barrel, then there is a good chance that the FSB is canted and hitting it with hammer or trying to keep the FSB squaure while re-installing the pins is NOT going to work.
So NOTHING you were trying to do would fix it. As I mentioned, re-drilling the FSB is about your only option (which you did and solved the problem).
Improper installation of rails and FSB’s is VERY common. Hell, you were trying to adjust the rail with the screws tightened down! That was never going to work.
You also never mentioned how many clicks was the windage?? More than 21?
I do this for a living and have fixed THOUSANDS of stupid user tricks over the years. All of your issues could have been fixed by simply checking your FSB PRIOR to removing it. Or even better yet, NEVER BUY a CRAPPY DPMS barrel.
So now, you have several hundred dollars worth of labor/hassel in a barrel that is basically worth about $70 dollars. Good job there “expert.” ![]()

Problem solved.
