FSB / ALUMA-HYDE

When I get my filthy mits on a BCM upper this year I’m planning on shaving the FSB and coating. I’m just not exactly sure which Aluma-Hyde coating is the best match.

I’m guessing Dark Parkerizing Gray?

Hot Pink

Well that’s a thought…

Black for a BCM. Tape it off and who gives a shit? I assume it’ll be under a rail or you wouldn’t be cutting it right?

P.S. Buy the extra nozzles for that crap. One nozzle lasts for one job pretty much.

Thanks Mark, that’s the plan.

I just did one today with Rustoleum “High Heat”

Label says…
Resists heat up to 2000F
Gas and oil resistant

The color is perfect IMO. (flat black) not a deep black
We’ll see how it does.

Be a lot simpler to hit with some cold blue

I used Rustoleum High Temp Grill Paint also.

It has held up good and matches the Parkerizing about perfectly.

That’s what I did with the two I have cut down and they look fine.

Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised with the color.
Not sure if I believe the whopping 2000F claim though…I’ll see how it does.

These two pics are Aluma-Hyde dark parkerizing grey on a BCM front sight post/gas block. I knew it wouldn’t be an exact match but it’s under my rail so I really don’t care. Black was out of stock when I needed it.
