I recently picked up an MSTN Build REECE “Mod 1” Profiled Upper Receiver in a trade. However, due to some circumstances right now, I need to sell it.
The upper exhibits the typical build quality that you have come to expect from Wes. It utilizes a 16" Douglas Barrel with a 1-7 twist. This has been mated to an LMT M4 receiver with ‘T’ marks and a KAC Long Rail and comes with two KAC rail panels that have been painted tan. The gas block is a LaRue unit while the BCG is one of chrome plated Les Baer units that Wes likes to use on his precision builds.
To quote Wes from one of his posts:
"FOR OVER A YEAR, WE HAVE ALSO BEEN OFFERING WHAT WE CALL OUR RECCE “MOD 1” PROFILE, WHICH IS IDENTICAL TO THE N.S.W. RECCE EXCEPT:
-
IT USES A MID-LENGTH GAS SYSTEM.
-
IT HAS A STEP ON THE BARREL FORWARD OF THE GAS BLOCK FOR THE OPS-INC BARREL COLLAR AT A POSITION COMPATIBLE WITH OPS-INC 12TH MODEL SUPPRESSOR USE.
DOUGLAS BLANKS, TYPICALLY.
GUESS WHAT? THIS “MOD 1” PROFILE IS IDENTICAL TO THE 5TH GROUP/A.M.U. 16" 6.8 SPC BARREL PROFILE, EXCEPT FOR OUR ADDITION OF THE OPS-INC SHOULDER. WHAT A SMALL WORLD …"
Barrel has also been KG Coated Black and has had a Wilson Combat Muzzle Brake permanently attached. Any competent smith (and many home smiths) should be able to remove this brake if desired and replace it with a flash hider.
The original owner put about 150 rounds through it, and the barrel was broken in by MSTN prior to the original delivery.
These pictures obviously do not do the upper justice. If needed, I can provide higher resolution versions.
I’m asking $1500 delivered CONUS.
I can accept Paypal and Money Orders and VISA/Master Card.
No trades at this time, please.
Thanks!
Giff
