BREAKING NEWS
Homicide: Abilene police officer killed in Clyde identified 4 min
ABILENE, Texas -
The death of an off-duty Abilene police officer has been classified a homicide, Police Chief Stan Standridge said during a news conference Tuesday.
Standridge identified the deceased officer as 27-year-old Don Allen, a 2006 graduate of Clyde High School.
“My heart’s desire is to keep this investigation tight,” Standridge said.
Meanwhile, Standridge said Allen is survived by a mother, father, two brothers and one sister, and was engaged to be married, having proposed on June 22.
Wonder how many Presidential aides will be at their funerals.
Holy cow, Clyde is not a very big town at all. I am sure everyone knows everyone there.
My sympathy and prayers are with the families of the two murdered officers. I wish good luck and good hunting to those pursuing their killers.
I wish there was such a thing as “ride alongs” where citizens can partner up with LEOs who have to patrol alone.
Did lots of ride alongs years ago when I was exploring the career, I’d be willing to ride shotgun if it was permitted. Of course such things would never be permitted.

An official said Friday the officer had been shot twice. Investigators — who have yet to identify any suspects — lashed out Thursday at a county coroner, saying he jeopardized their investigation by publicly discussing details of the officer’s wounds as he announced that he could not yet rule the death a homicide, suicide or accident.
I shit you not I called this out a as possible suicide last week.
I thought his gun was taken and missing?
No they found it right off but declined say where they found it and what proximity it was to the body, even when questioned about it. That and the other cop that shot up his own rig and claimed he was attacked got be thinking “This dude offed himself.” I was telling my folks I bet he had some financial woes and a possible a life insurance to the wife. I hate thinking that way but I admit I did.
Unbelievable if true!
Sep. 11, 2015 - 1:53 - Evidence suggests possibility that the cop might have killed himself; Matt Finn looks into the investigation on ‘Special Report’
So he was in a foot chase and was going to retire at the end of the month and just decided to kill himself in the middle of this. Sorry but no.
Until the investigation is concluded neither law enforcement or the coroner’s office should be making any comments. The appropriate time for a comment like this would be after all leads are exhausted and the investigation is closed.
