Ok I just purchased My second Magpul MS2 sling so I now have one in black and one in FDE. I will be using them ICW the ASAP plate for the most part but I want to get a forward sling attachment point which I can clip on to when I want to switch to two point. I would like it to be black and as low profile as possible. Does anyone have any reccomendations?
A friend uses the CQD. I’ve handled it and liked it although I did not use it extensively. He’s a heavy user and only hangs stuff on his rifle that works, at least for him. I’ve been looking around for solutions and the one from CQD looks like the best option I can find unless somebody has something I’ve not seen?-Norcal911
Another would be the BlueForce Gear Universal Wire Loop. Slides over any and all forends, and can also be attached to the barrel under the FSB.
Wouldnt work, I need a front attachment point for the MS2 sling the UWL is not solid. The CQD attachment point is what I think I am looking for, thanks.
I was thinking the same thing. The front mounting point, for 2 point config., will need to be rigid. My MS2 is on order (and should be on the way from Botach…I know, I know, that’s another topic), and when I get it, I plan to try and run it with the standard M4 type side sling adapter. While not totally rigid, if installed in the stock direction with MOE handguards (some folks are turning the side sling adapters backwards so they fold flat), it only swivels a little, and should be ok for this use.
I also will consider something rigid, and mounted to the front for the handguard, to save the weight of using a side sling adapter. I just need to find the right solution. Something along the lines of this…
I was looking to do something similar, but maybe a bit lower profile, and with the rigid mounting point at the front of the MOE, not the back.
If you want the hardware on the MS2 to be able to swivel around on the CQD mount you will have to modify the CQD, and thin the bottom portion out. If you dont the MS2 hardware will stick straight out.
I did mine with a flat bastard file, sanded the file marks off, and then painted with high temp BBQ paint.
If you want something that has a big enough eyelet for the MS2 front attachment point, plus also be low profile, then maybe the DD-7300 will work for you (if you can find one in stock somewhere. Here is a link to what it looks like:-

Well, Gear Sector has a REALLY tiny one coming out at some point. There’s also the Midwest Industries one.

I think one of those would work, assuming you have rails.
Here’s the link to the gearsector ones (they also resell some MWI ones):

Any more info on this? The only thing I can find on their site besides the MI stuff appears to be for 1" web, not an HK snap hook.

They haven’t released a date yet tho. My guess is maybe shot or something.
Look above your reply. For some reason, my reply to you went above your post. Weird.
That Gear Sector mount looks like it would be a bit too small to use with the MS2 hardware…
That’s odd - the server clock must have farted.
Nice for the intended purpose, but probably too wide for my need (side of MOE handguard).
But it does look OK for HK snap hooks.
Have a link to this thread?
Sure don’t. I saw that pic in a quote in an unrelated thread, and copied it here. I will see if I can find the original. I would really like something like it, to mount directly to the MOE, without a rail, that would work with the MS2 front quick latch hardware. Let me see if I can find the thread…
That would be the last pages of this thread:

And I in turn lifted it from this one:
Ya beat me to it!
I am thinking of trying using a regular carbine stock sling loop, like in the 5th pic, on this post: https://www.m4carbine.net/showpost.php?p=442304&postcount=14 . Hmmm…looks like I have some experimenting to do, when my sling gets here…
What is going on with the forum??? Why is my post above yours???
I use the MI MCTAR-06 after trying a QD type on the right side rail - I’m southpaw. The large MS2 clip would push the QD button enough to disconnect depending on the position you were in. The MI unit is not QD.
