I am going to order one up to try out, but I cannot find any info on install. I see it is flat on top and bottom. Assuming it is a standard thickness that i can use a box wrench on? Or is there some special tool I need? Or maybe I am the special tool?
Stick, do you have any info on the install other than drive by pics?![]()
I just used a crescent wrench with painters tape on the jaws. Worked great. You don’t need to put a lot of tq on it, maybe 20 ftlbs. You will probably need a shim kit as the three barrels I tried it on with just a crush washer it did not time right and in Stick’s pics he used shims as well.
Its a good brake for the person behind the gun but its a headache maker if youre off to the side. Not that that’s a surprise given the design. Makes a nice flash at night too ![]()
Stickman, where did you get one in black? I wanted a black one but I have only seen raw stainless.
Edit, I see its now on their site but not in stock at retailers yet. Figures, I just got mine last week.
Just wrench it!
I got peeps!
they are available directly from the manufacture
has anyone had any time behind the RED that has also run a FSC556? wondering how the two compare.
Looks very similar to comp on a friends AK47.
His is definitely the loudest 7.62x39 weapon I have ever heard.
It hurts your ears even with muffs on.
The flats are the same size (.750) as an A2 flash hider, FWIW. Same wrench.
I just got my RED last week and went to the range. It works great, I had the FSC556 for a while and I would say that the muzzle rise mitigation is pretty similar with a slight edge going to the RED. I like the RED better as it does not produce the loud “ping” that I noticed with the 556.
I fired the RED and the immediately fired my BCM comp and I can say that the RED out preformed the BCM in muzzle rise but the BCM won in the flash hiding as you all can imagine.
Overall I like the RED. I put it on my 16" SPR build and I would say for the money its a great break
They’ve been in stock for about a week at Rainier

Did anyone happen to weigh one of these? They have to be fairly portly, but I just want to make sure they aren’t 4+ ounces.
Yikes, I was just there and neglected to click “Description.” Thanks for your time.
