Form 1 Trust question

Do you fill out the backside of form 1 if filing as a trust? Specifically the “yes” and “no” check box questions of 10a through 10f and 11a through 11e as they would apply to the grantor or trustee. (I know the CLEO section and photograph section don’t apply with the trust.)

yes;)

thanks.

Funny, I didn’t fill it out on mine with a trust.

Weird. The F1 I just got back, I had mine filled out, but that was on the advice of my dealer. Maybe you don’t…

There is some debate over weither you should or not. It’s one of those things that doesn’t take any significant effort or time, so people do it to err on the safe side of things.

I have known people that haven’t filled out the boxes and gotten paperwork approved, and have never heard of someone getting denied BECAUSE they filled in the boxes with a trust, so it’s just a matter of insurance for some people to just go ahead and do it.

With a trust, from my understanding, no, I don’t think it is required, but do you really want to catch the examiner on a pissy day and have your paperwork kicked back for not having a simple check box filled in? Most would say no.
