Form 1 "returned without action"

I got my Form 1 back with a big red stamp that says “returned without action” I forgot to sign something. Ok, no problem. However, at the top of the page, the examiner wrote “refund request submited” and then a date. WTF? I thought if there was a mistake, I can just correct it and send it back. But whats with the Refund Request BS? Are they just going to return my money and I have to play the whole waiting game over again?
Kinda panicking here. Any insight from you guys would be great.

Are you in Washington State?

no. Oregon

Well crap, I’m all out of ideas… sorry.

I know there’s talk (as of SHOT '15) that they are getting rid of the “problem status” that used to exist, but it hasn’t been consistent. I know a dealer here that sent in a dozen or more forms, forgot to sign one, and it got sent back like yours.

The sent back part doesnt bother me. Its the “refund request submitted.” I thought I could just correct the error and send it back. I dont want my money back, I want the stamp

Try calling the examiner directly and ask them what’s going on. They’re likely going to be able to explain things better than us.

Why not eFile? It’s very simple

I havnt set up a trust. And the local police chief is great about signing off

Got ahold of them on the phone. She said that since it was a “critical error” I have to re submit it along with a new check. Back to the back of the line. Bummer. Another 6 months. Don’t forget to dot you is and cross your Ts!

Yep…that’s part of the inconsistency.

I know others that have been able to send the corrected one in with a new check and get bumped back into their spot in line.

Get a 199trust for $59 and you’ll shave off 5 months (10 months when you have an error) when you eFile. To me 5 (or 10) months is worth $60. Or $300-400 from an attorney.

Just did that. Even tho I have a corporation, I went the trust route instead. Allows me to list family and friends as co-trustees and beneficiaries.

That sounds very doable! Where do I get info on that

It looks like the deal has expired

But if you go to 199trust.com they have it for $79

SilencerCo has some type of deal that creates a trust.
