For your consideration

New product on the market.

As I said in another thread on another site about this product:

"What on earth are they trying to mount on an M9 that would possibly require that much rail space?

If you are mounting a light, a laser AND an optic to an M9, you probably shouldn’t be using one."

Making an economical rail that easily attatches to a stock M9 to allow you to mount a good weapon light and marketing it to the military:

Good idea!

Making a bolt-on rail for an M9 that has more rail space on it than my carbine’s rail system…

Not such a good idea, in my opinion.

I can see maybe including a strike plate on the end of the weapon…but the rails on the sides and the top just puzzle the hell out of me. What are folks supposed to mount on those rails? An Aimpoint up top? An IR laser or a DBAL on the side? Soon you’ll have something that makes the open class raceguns look like practical carry weapons.

I just don’t see how a pistol with all that crud mounted on it is going to be very useful to folks for whom bulk is such a problem that they can only pack a pistol in the first place…

J_W,
I’m with you. I don’t see what this can do that a CT grip and a X200 on an M9A1 couldn’t, except be bulkier.

Looking at that Beretta made me throw up in my mouth.

We have a lot of guys here that are the real thing. I’m interested to see if they think this would be a useful thing to have, and why they think it would be.

From what I understand later models have done away with the side rails and now have only the top and bottom rails.

Definitely an improvement, but still I wonder about mounting something like the Doctor Optic to the M9…

Thats just silly.

three point sling?

Isn’t that what (insert HSLD SOF unit of choice) uses??

I’ll buy one when CAA clones it or makes a copy as long as it doesn’t get in the way of my suppressor.

Why wouldn’t you guys want to mound a bipod on the bottom?

ETA: HOLY F%#K!!!

Looks like aluminum extrusions for making storm doors. Hell, I wonder if I can place a special order for one of the uncut long versions…

What are you going to tighten with a 1"x1/2" allen key?

They are giving this guy one for use overseas:

Where will he holster his M9 now? He WILL need that 3 point sling…

“These fellows have been chosen to receive their own TacRails to aid them in their duty in Iraq and on the home front.”

Him too:

“SCI recommends the Trijicon RedDot to mount on the WOR4 TacRail.”

Check out the second article on this page: http://survivalconsultants.com/intel.htm referencing Cylinder and Slides newest creation, a hammer system for 1911s that allows you to carry in “condition 5” where after racking the slide, you push the hammer forward and it sets up so when you flip off the safety, it springs into the cocked position.

I have fired an M9 in combat- stripped and straight stock; I’m not even a big pistol light guy…this is another one of those answers to a nonexistent problem. If a 9mm is gonna be a primary weapon, it will be from an MP5.

I’m sure they will be able to market this to 2nd Lt. Platoon Commanders:D (as they usually know exactly why this item will help them in combat).

Anyone know who makes a holster for this baby;)

That just plain looks unnecessary and goofier than hell.

I already have the inside the waist band holster for mine.

When I was in Iraq, some one star was postulating on the greatness of the M9/Crimson Trace combo - the quote was something like, “having these awesome precision-guided weapons will make for safer conditions everywhere…”

Well, General, sir - here’s your pistol.

Yeah a 2000 lb. JDAM easily makes MAJOR for USPSA Power Factor. It’s just hard to score & paste the target when it’s completely gone!

I keep looking for the bipod…

WTF?

Bipods go on the 12" and 13.2" version which have a built in stud.
