Ok what type of ammo do i have here besides old 556?
Hirtenberger Short range “training” ammo. Copper jacket around a plastic core. Sub 30 grain I think.
I was wondering how they were lead free? plastic core…is this how the army does their training bullets also?
This isn’t new ammo by any means. The dust on the box we pulled it out of is probably from the Reagan era.
I was wondering what its performance is like, even at short range. I’ve never used it in the Army and this is the first i’ve seen it in 22yrs. So its all new to me 
It’s really purpose built for short range target practice.
