I am not a fan of DPMS but I’ll bet a good amount that 90% of all the owner builds out there contain their parts kits, whether they bought them from DPMS or not.

Based on what I’ve learned at this very site, and by RTFM’ing, there are some parts by DPMS I wouldn’t care to have in my rifle, others which I would be happy to get just to stick in my spare parts bin, and a few I would be okay with including in a build. Does that mean everything by DPMS sucks? No. But it does mean that I wouldn’t necessarily rely on them for a “complete rifle” which I’d then spend $$$ on fixing up. I’m already doing that with my Bushmaster and one “special” AR is enough for now, thanks.

I honestly had no idea dpms had such poor quality.
You guys want cheap? I have a DPMS lower under my M1S 24" upper. Probably close to 2000 rounds through the setup. Never a FTE or FTF. I had one misfire when a Wolf round didn’t go off. That’s the only problem I’ve ever had with it. Do I think it’s some top-of-the-line sniper rifle? Of course not, my tac’t out 10/22 holds that position. But it was under $700, it’s accurate, and it’s a blast to shoot. What else could I ask for?
