For all of you Crossbreeders out there......

I customize mine as I’m sure many do. Best holster I’ve ever had. No squeeks, no movement.

Mine squeeked a little at first but not much. Went away really quick. Gets more and more comfortable.

Love their clips also… anyone know who makes them (the clips) ?

I don’t know who makes them but CB will send you extras for cheap if you need a new set.

I watched a guy unbox his brand new Crossbreed Holster on YouTube the other day, and the first thing he did with it was spray the whole thing, and I do mean the Whole Thing, down with Ballistol. What is the purpose of spraying it down with Ballistol? It wasn’t his first Crossbreed.

I can’t wait to get mine. It should be here in about 2 weeks

Some like to shorten the breakin period by softening the leather with oil (like a baseball glove). Then holster up and wear it. I alwsys thought that oiling it up softend leather too much.

My most recent Crossbreed squeaked quite a bit. Even after break-in. Eventually it stopped and it’s been perfect. I did notice that they changed the finish on the clips. The first holster I bough had a matte finish on the clips and it never once squeaked. Now they have a shiny finish.

The CB holsters I have had (3) always seem to take about 2-3 weeks to break in, wearing them everyday, all day.

Depends on the oil used and how much you use. It can be overdone. I used to do it to leather boots almost daily when I worked in the woods of the PNW back in the 70’s and 80’s in order to keep my feet dry as long as possible. Worked for an hour or two, then got wet feet. Leather eventually became too supple, and feet slipped around. I suppose that makes sense, but I think I would have used something else other than Ballistol on that Crossbreed.

Mine squeaked the first couple of weeks, after breaking in no more noises.

I have found that the source of my Crossbreed’s squeaking is the contact points of the kydex body and leather and not the belt clips and leather. I believe the squeaking is coming from the attachment points of the kydex to the body of the leather. I don’t know how to remedy this though. I have the horsehide models and both of mine squeak quite a bit and I have had, and worn mine daily for about two years now and the squeaking is still too persistent in my opinion. I am a little hesitant to apply any spray or oil to any area that would contact the slide of my G23 and G30. What options should I take? I’ve considered switching to the cowhide black or the premium hard rolled tan cowhide models.

I’ve only had cowhide supertucks. Maybe 3 or 4 of them. Not one made noise. I’d go with the cowhide.

Which is better the cowhide or horsehide? What’s the difference? I’ve been wanting one of these for awhile.

All of these questions are answered on the Crossbreed FAQ page.

That title is funny. Nice holster

How do the cowhides do with body sweat and moisture in the summer months?

I don’t have any issues in 110+ heat. Might be a different story if I had to deal with humidity though, I’m not sure.
eta; I also trim my holsters down so much they don’t much resemble a Supertuck anymore…

Worn mine well over a year. Always squeaked. It was where the metal clip rubs on the leather. Regularly conditioned the leather. Not where the rubber washers are, but up higher on the metal clip as someone mentioned earlier.
Bought some of the self-adhesive frame felt dots. Stuck them on the back of the clips. No more squeak at all.

It will stop once broke in. I have three super tucks, two cowhide and a horsehide. The horsehide is WAY more comfortable than the others. I wish I would have pony’d up for one from the start.

I noticed from your posted picture that you move your front clip more towards the kydex, what was the purpose of that? Was it to help with appendix carry?
