Anyone fired one of the FNARs? Looks like a good design. 20rds piston pistol grip etc. Looks like a pain to take apart though. Any experiences?

Look online for the exploded diagram. Its like a swiss watch, a lot of parts. The mags are unique to the system too.
I looked at one but after doing some research decided on a more tried and true semi auto 308 platform. Just my opinion.
There is a youtube video of a guy taking his FNAR 308 apart, its well, complicated.
I have heard a lot of good about them, Grumpy Texas Bastard on OperatorChan speaks highly of them. I have never heard anything bad about them, aside from the takedown, which is fine because this is not a combat gun, it’s a range/target gun.
I just can’t get into the aesthetics, looks like some kind of “franken gun”. Least they could have done is design it to accept FAL mags.
I’ll stick with my FALs, thank you.
I have always liked the Browning BAR as a semi hunting platform, especially when compared to the Remington 7400 semi auto.
But its not going to hold up to allot of week after week target work, like Cold said it has more parts than most combat rifles and forget quick at the range field stripping.
I recalled some years ago the military tried them out in the magnum calibers and found they wouldn’t hold up.
I think they would be a nice casual shooter, but they are rather pricey!
