In the beginning the FN gods created the FAL, and they saw that it was good… Sometimes under the stress of sustained automatic fire, the rear of the receiver would crack and this was not good… Thus the FN gods changed the design of the FAL receiver adding reinforcements to the areas prone to cracking, thus making a new type… They called this new receiver a type 2, and referred to their original creation as a type 1… Later the FN gods wanted an even stronger receiver that could be made in less time than it took to make the earlier type 1 or type 2, thus the type 3 was born unto this earth… And the masses looked upon the bounty that the FN gods had given them, and they rejoiced…
