I have a Kalashnikov USA, KR 103 AK rifle. I just purchased a US Palm AK Mag and had to use excessive force in order to lock the Mag into place. I searched this forum and couldn’t find an answer to fitting US Palm AK Mags. I found a YouTube Video that answered my question and demonstrated the simplest, least evasive fix. At the 50 second mark, the solution is shown. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l18Z2NsFXMc Worked on my US Palm Mag and my reinforced Magpul AK PMAG.
They are extremely tight in my M70 and with use they have worn in but are still tight. I ended up selling them and I ordered new Bulgarian made poly mags and for the price they are hard to beat and not a single issue with them. I just got mags that fit better. That or sand or file to fit. I have done that on mags before and that will fix it. I just didn’t like the feel or look of them either.

Not uncommon to have to “fit” AK mags to different guns.
Tantals were the worst IMO, even with the correct steel magazines they were a force fit and a PITA.
Wanted like like that rifle so much but between the magazine issues and the “wrong spec” Green Mountain barrels they were a disaster.
The Bulgarian poly mags linked above are great. I’ve never had an issue with them. There are also new Bulgarian steel mags that run without issue as well.
US Palms fit best for me. Magpul reinforced need plenty of filing and sanding.
Actually, the best deal going are the Bulgy reinforced mags. I think they are as durable as needed, slimmer than Palms, and better than Magpul - wish I bought more of thee and less of MP some years back. They do produce a little wobble, but not an issue.
