I love my Hi Point Carbine, it’s the most accurate 9mm carbine around and never misses a beat.
Me:
age 43, 5’4"
Normal/Healthy Weight 115#
Heaviest Weight 130# earlier this year
Lightest weight 108# (not good)
Currently 119#
I battle inflammation (since 2009) in my joints and muscles due to food intolerance (the trigger foods seem to change with the years and I discover them via elimination diets), and currently have severe neck and back pain that my docs have not been able to figure out for the past year. All labs normal. No autoimmune diseases (but my ANA is sometimes positive). Heading down the gastro track next week to verify all is well in that area. fun, fun.
So, I try to eat very well. Avoid butter fat, any fatty food, and greasy food which are usually the worst culprits for my inflammation. Thankfully, C4IGrant has been eating healthier, eating less, and cooking at home which has helped me a lot. We are very supportive of each other’s weight goals and getting exercise.
Great thread idea…thanks!
So awesome that you recognize that and give her kudos. For me, my smart food choices come first from any inflammation result I receive 27 hours later and, as for how much I eat, I have to give C4IGrant the credit. He lost over 30# about 5 years ago and teaches me how to eat less…
It’s amazing how little food I need now (under 1000 cal a day easily)…and very frustrating. I tend to be an emotional eater (the happier I am the more I eat, anxious/sad/stressed leads to no eating). I give C4IGrant permission sometimes to stop me from having my kids grab me some pretzels or chocolate in the evening while we are watching our shows together–my favorite part of the day.
Thanks for jumping in, C2Q. Seems like you’ve got things about where you want them, working on the fine tuning to actually feel good. My wife is pretty sharp on the eating side, but has taught me a lot, and I would have to admit to generally feeling better when eating what she prepares instead of stopping at Burger King before my hour drive home.
In my defense before posting any weigh-ins tomorrow: This weekend was my (celebrated) anniversary. So, I ate a ton of good food with my 8-month-pregnant wife, though it was generally healthy. I mean… Sugarcoated fruit has to be good for you?
If there was ever grounds for a “hall pass,” I’d say pregnant-wife cravings are at or near top of the list.
Congrats on the wee’un on the way, too.
As for me, fell off the wagon this week… dragged kicking and screaming by two grumpy old ladies with pizza cravings. Then again, since it was at lunch when I had more time to burn the carbs… and I only had a chop salad for dinner after to compensate.

I guess the prune juice helped.
One thing I have re-started doing is after at the end of a shower, flip the water all the way to cold and stay under for 60 seconds. That’s something I did for a long time through my 20’s, but got away from. There are conceivable physiological benefits, but I view it more at psychological, owning it. I beat my body into submission, to quote Paul.

Too much going out to eat and office potluck.
I’ll be more focused this week.

Ended the week at 207.2, overall week’s drop 3#. Low for the week was 205.8.
Overall progress: About 7/8 of weight goal, but only 1/4 of target neckline reduction–needed 2" from start to be able to button shirt collars, right now the button and hole are about 1.5" apart.
The neck will come… For the most part, the body eliminates fat from around the body in equally proportionate amounts (overall), and the neck is smaller around than say a waist or chest, so the decreases will be lower measurable linear amounts, though equal percentage.
We doing a weekly check in? I’ll bite again.
Started doing a protein shake in place of the normal lunch this week.

I was going to, mostly to keep myself on track. OP said he wanted to reach his goal by next thanksgiving, be pretty boring if we didn’t post till then lol.

Not going to present my weight this week, as the scale I used is undoubtedly off. I haven’t lost 10 pounds in two weeks.
Lol, sometimes I swear my scale just makes up random numbers.
I’m 187 today.
Guessing next week there won’t be too much of a decrease with Christmas and all. We do a big breakfast and normally a decent amount of stuff for dinner.
Not that I eat a crazy amount on holidays (sometimes I do) but we will end up with a lot of left overs and that turns into a week of high calories meals.

Gained 1.2lb this week, ended at 208.4. Expected this for the holiday season, so the immediate goal remains “stay below 210 until January, then back to work dropping from there.”

Actually fairly happy with that. So far I have done little working out due to surprise travel that involved ridiculous seat time in car, zero planned meals, and silly schedules addressing some concerns out of state. And that was all before the drive to relatives last weekend and all the pies and cookies my mom always makes for the family.
Finally got space cleared out in the basement from our move in the spring… So the bar has space now. And, I received a 60# kettlebell as a gift which will supplement all I had before, which was a 45#.
Not urgent, but I do plan to pick up a squat rack (rather than my preference, a power cage, simply due to space and ceiling height) for cheap at Walmart or FB Marketplace.
Minor backslide, ended the week at 208 after a low of 203.8 earlier. Still a net reduction, but only by 0.4lb. I blame the Mongolian lunch Saturday not doing its usual thing of a pound or two gain followed by 2-3lbs of what we’ll delicately call “dropping cargo.”
Still below 210, though; three more days and then the real fight begins.
I slipped on my work outs this week, haven’t done a thing in that arena since Wednesday. However, I made a point to watch the food intake this week and I’m holding steady at 184 as of this morning.
The plan is to get back to my work out routine tomorrow and I’m cutting out all alcohol for the month of January. Figure I’ll give myself a New Years boost.

Scale said 187 this morning.
Getting back on my diet after all that good holiday food.

Weighed out last night at 203.8, a drop for the week of 4.2. Lowest score was 201.8 yesterday morning. Think when I crack 200 I’ll take a week off, then come back in shooting for 180.
Pants are getting looser, I’m really having to cinch the ol’ belt down more now–I shoulda ordered 38’s or 40’s instead of 42’s for the winter refresh.
Was 186 this morning but barely.
As long as I’m trending down I will be happy.
