Howdy everyone. After doing much reading/research here in the forums (man, I love this forum), I decided to stake my Stag Arms bolt carrier. As many would say, the ‘staking’ on there is faux and mostly cosmetic. Ideally, I would use the MOACKS, but I couldn’t shell out the money for one just to do one bolt carrier.
Before:

After looking at the instructional videos on Brownells and an old Army M16 manual for proper staking, I bought a punch and punched 3 times around each screw. I originally planned on staking it from the sides, but the default staking/melting already caused loss of material. I was afraid there wouldn’t be enough material to push to properly stake, which is why I went with the 6 punches on top.
I’m new to the whole staking thing, so my question is to the gurus out there, is this sufficient enough? If not, what else needs to be done? I appreciate any feedback.
After: 3 punches around each screw.
