I got my first lower put together tonight. It was pretty easy, I sure my next one will go by in about half the time lol.
I went with:
Delaware Machinery lower
Magpull CTR stock
DPMS LPK
RRA trigger guard
RRA Ambi selector
Ergo grip
Magpull bad lever
Fab denfense magwell grip
Now…I borrowed an upper from my BIL to see how it fit on the gun and it does not seat right. The pin by the buffer tube will not go. It looks like the lower is not going down far enough for the pin the go through. Any ideas???
A friend of mine had a similar problem fitting a RRA upper to a Spikes lower. The pin would pass through the lower freely by itself and seat against the body as it should. When he attached the upper he had no such luck. After checking his upper the machined hole was “egg shaped” and after reaming it worked fine.
The borrowed upper fits properly on the owners lower correct? If so, my best guess is the possibility of the hole location on the lower may be off location a tad. I would borrow another upper and see if the problem happens again. If it does then you need to have someone with precision measuring equipment (eg. dial caliper, dial indicator on a height gage) check the dimensions as they are standard. If they are out of tolerance I would contact the manufacturer and ask for a replacement.
