First AR build.. BCM, LMT, DD **Updated Pics**

You have a really nice rifle coming together take your time getting the optics and try to get some trigger time behind each before you plonk down the hard earned.

If you are in Colorado you are more than welcome to try all my optics. Oops your in Ohio so if you are traveling through the Rockies you’re more than welcome to try both the Aimpoint and the EOTech…

I just remembered that Kyle Defoor (former Dev Gru Navy SEAL) mentioned something about the majority of SOCOM guys using EOTechs…

DD Lite rails are great, Troy BUIS, LMT Lowers are very good, BCM uppers are the best in the business

(the shorty no longer has the AFG…)

Ive got some experience with the Aimpoint CCO comp4 I think…that is whats on my issued military rifle… I have never used the smaller versions T1, H1… Maybe I could talk one of the local gun stores that has a indoor range to let me try an eotech out. Even though im already leaning pretty heavily toward them.

Ill take you up on that offer cam if im ever out that way…lol

Can anyone tell me the width of the Magpul XTM panal sections? thanks

I just measured 1.575" with my dial calipers. 5 panels will cover a 9" rail on the DD Omega 9.0 rail on my BCM 16" Middy.

Ok, Thanks…

Still waiting for the lower and the AFG but I have updated the the pic to where im at as of now. Lookin good I think.

I have an LMT SBR and an LMT lower they’re worth a little wait. Hopefully it not a long wait.

The gun shop told me anywhere from a week to 3 weeks. But LMT told me around 10 days so we will see. If LMT is correct it should be there early next week.

Either way that is not a bad wait. The receiver extension on LMT guns is simply awesome. Stocks fit them very well. I found an LMT M203 for sale and have been drooling over it.

I have a LMT lower that I bought complete and switched out the trigger group with a Geiselle SSA trigger. I have a BCM 14.5" Middy on top with Troy Buis and and Eotech 553 for an optic. I also have a UBR stock on the lower. I love the setup! Only one minor issue. It’s a bit heavy. I just purchased an Aimpoint T-1 with DD mount. that should shave of almost half a pound. We’ll see what it feels like in a week or so when the Aimpoint comes in. I have small hands and ended up going with DD Ladder rail covers. They feel really comfortable. I had Troy rail covers and the rails were too thick feeling with them on.

Well the lower finally came in so minus the optic which I wont have for a couple months the rifle is complete. I updated the original post with pics. But here is one for the people who are lazy and dont want to take the time to go back to the original post.

Nice BLT. Two quality pieces of gear. When will you get a chance to shoot it?

Im hoping to atleast get a chance to zero the irons sometime next week before class.

Good idea. That will save you and your classmates time and aggravation.

Looks really slick.

Hey! I resemble that remark!

Very nice build, let us know how she shoots.

Well guys I finally got a chance to get this build to the range. Just took it to the indoor range and did a zero on the irons, I will redo t once the weather gets better and I can get out to an outdoor range.

The BCM, LMT match up worked great, Shot very smooth I didn’t put that many rounds through it since my intent was just to get a zero on the irons. But the rounds that I did shoot. I didn’t have a single problem during firing. I like this rifle better than my army issued M4.The rifle is very well balanced. The SOPMOD stock is great allows you to get a nice stock weld and feels great in the shoulder. Once it was zeroed the rifle shot nice tight little groups. I will ad an optic this spring when I have more time to shoot.

I have already begun to buy parts for my next build. Going for more of a precision build with this next one. So stay tuned for the build thread on that one.

Beautiful rifle. What optic did you decide on? The Aimpoint T1 is perfect for something like that.

Im going with an eotech. For training purposes, it is what I will be using in the lawenforcement community in my area if I get with a tactical unit. So I would like to be comfortable with using it. When I do another carbine build I will go with a T1 so I can have both.

I like your rifle. If it’s not too much to ask, what did it cost you to build this rifle without the accessories?

Thanks!!!
