First AR, basic carbine w/ a couple extras.

Everyone’s gotta have a first, right?

I realize this rifle isn’t exactly the cat’s meow, but when you consider that I was able to build it through bargain and trade for about $700, I think it turned out rather well.

(Apologies for picture quality, shot with an iPhone on my bed… :()

Specs:

Upper:
-Bushmaster (Keyhole Marked, YHM Manufactured) Patrolman’s Carbine flat-top upper w/ proper M4 feedramps and properly staked gas key, 16" Chrome-lined 4150 barrel w/ 1-9" twist and carbine-length gas system, teardrop fwd assist, standard charging handle, double heatshield CAR handguards, standard A2 flash hider
-BCM Extractor Upgrade (Black insert, 5 coil extractor spring, crane o-ring)
-Colt A2 detchable carry handle

Lower:
YHM Stripped Lower w/ G&R Tactical LPK
Magpul Full MIAD Grip with integral trigger-guard frontstrap, large backstrap
Magpul CTR Stock on Commercial receiver extension, 6 position.
G&R Tactical SS buffer spring w/ H buffer

I will almost certainly be adding a set of Magpul MOE handguards and a BAD in the future. I’m also seriously considering a BCMGUNFIGHTER Charging handle and possibly an EOTech or Aimpoint of some sort down the road.

This was a budget build, the next AR I build will almost certainly be a BCM Middy - when my financial situation improves.

Cool, reminds me of a Bushy I sold a couple years ago for $550. Amazing how prices change so fast.

That’s a really nice carry handle, dude

Looks like a serviceable start to me

Make sure that your chamber is a true 5.56 chamber if you plan on shooting that ammo. Otherwise it looks like a good start.

Now add magazines and ammo, then repeat.

It is, headspace was verified at time of purchase.

Thanks. I got a cracking good deal on it :D:cool:

I’m pleasantly surprised how well it matches with the finish on the YHM receivers.

Nice setup you got there man. I also have 2 sets of the YHM recievers just like you.
